A community boxing coach has received recognition for his work reducing anti-social behaviour in his town.
Shaun Norman, 42, of the Shepshed Amateur Boxing Club, was presented with the Community Sport Award at the Leicestershire First Awards 2012.
The volunteer, who was nominated by beat bobby Pc Richard Neville, was commended for the work he does with youngsters at his gym in Brook Street.
Shaun, who volunteers six nights a week, said: "I'm not one to big myself up because we've a lot of coaches who do a fantastic job – there's no way I could do it on my own.
"The award is nice because I like to think it recognises the effort that everyone puts in at the club."
Shaun received his award at the fifth annual Leicestershire First Awards event held at BBC Radio Leicester on July 10, 2012.
Maurice and Vivien Thompson, along with Freda Hussein and Rick Moore, are to present the awards, which celebrate leadership, excellence, citizenship, and promote a culture of giving throughout Leicestershire and Rutland.
